I really like my leather chair and ottoman in our craft room. It's a nice place to
escape and read a book or just doze off. But I found that with cooler weather approaching,
my feet were getting cold. I thought about just grabbing a blanket, but since
we just purchased a very fancy sewing and embroidery machine... I decided to try my hand at quilting! This was my first attempt at sewing anything and I hesitated at first. Not because I was intimidated, but because it's just not considered a "manly" thing to do! Putting that thought aside, I forged on and searched the Internet for a simple lap quilt pattern. I found this one and decided to go for it. It measures just 42" by 42" and uses 6" squares. I didn't get fancy with the quilting, I just wanted to "learn the ropes". The hardest part was picking out the fabric... I think they're starting to recognize me at the fabric store. I learned a lot by doing this project and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to doing more! Update! I'm a published quiltmaker! Check it out! James Milstid |
